Terms of Use
Last updated: 23 July 2026
These terms explain how our website works and what you can expect when you buy from us. We have written them in plain English. If anything is unclear, please contact us and we will explain.
1. Who we are
This website is operated by Vintage Wright Limited, trading as Wave Antiques ("Wave Antiques", "we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales.
- Company number: 15113318
- Registered address: 7 Hatton Garden, London, EC1N 8AD
- VAT number: GB464023122
- Contact: info@waveantiques.com
2. Using this website
You may browse our website and use it to place orders and book appointments. You agree not to misuse it, for example by attempting to gain unauthorised access, disrupting the site, or using it for anything unlawful.
All images, text, and designs on this site belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy or reuse them commercially without our written permission.
We try to keep the site accurate and available, but we cannot guarantee it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
3. Our jewellery
All our items are second-hand antique and vintage pieces. Because of this:
- There may be signs of age and wear. This is normal for antique jewellery and is part of its character.
- We restore each piece to the best condition we can before sale. We do not list items that are broken or obviously damaged.
- Every piece is unique, so once an item is sold we cannot supply an identical replacement.
We photograph and describe each item as accurately as we can. Colours may appear slightly different on your screen.
4. Certificates and reports
If an item comes with supporting paperwork or a certificate, this is stated on the product page. We can also provide an EDR jewellery report with a purchase on request.
5. Placing an order
When you place an order you are making an offer to buy. A contract is formed once we confirm your order and dispatch the item. If we cannot fulfil your order, for example because the item has already sold in our showroom, we will contact you and refund you in full.
Prices are shown in your selected currency. Other currencies are converted at prevailing rates and the amount charged may vary slightly.
You must be at least 18 to place an order.
6. Delivery, import taxes and duties
Shipping is complimentary.
If you are ordering from outside the UK, your country may charge import taxes or customs duties on arrival. These are set by your own country's authorities and are your responsibility, not ours.
Orders to the United States
US customs require an Employer Identification Number (EIN). To avoid delays at customs, we ask that this is provided when the shipment is created.
7. Returns and cancellations
Your legal right to cancel
If you buy online or over the phone, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of receiving your item, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. You do not need to give a reason. You must tell us you are cancelling, then return the item within 14 days of doing so.
Our own returns policy
In addition to your legal rights, we offer a 30-day return window. If something is not right, please contact us as soon as you can, ideally within 7 days of receiving your item, so we can try to put it right.
How to return an item
- Contact us first so we can advise on the return.
- Return the item at your own cost using a secure, insured service. We recommend a courier or Royal Mail Special Delivery with cover for the full value of the item, in case it is lost in transit.
- Items must come back in the condition they were sent. Items that have been damaged or altered cannot be accepted for a refund.
Once we receive and check the item, we will refund you using the same payment method you used to pay.
Bespoke or personalised items, and items resized to your specification, may not be returnable. We will tell you before you order if this applies.
8. Ring resizing
We offer complimentary resizing on all items where this is possible. Some stone settings and designs cannot be safely resized, and we will tell you if that is the case for your piece.
To arrange resizing, please contact us and leave a note on your order with the size you need. Our size guide is available on the website.
9. Warranty
We stand behind the pieces we sell. For 6 months from the date of purchase, we will look after faults that come from the way a piece was made or restored, rather than from use, age, or accident.
If something does not seem right, please get in touch. We will ask you to send the piece in so we can take a look, and if it falls under the warranty we will put it right at no cost to you. That is usually a repair, which is often what best preserves the character of an antique piece.
What is not covered
Things that fall outside how a piece was made or restored, such as:
- Accidental damage or impact.
- Everyday wear and loosening that comes with time.
- Signs of age and patina consistent with a second-hand antique piece.
- Work carried out by anyone other than us.
- Loss or theft.
This warranty is offered in addition to your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which are not affected.
10. Packaging
All items are sent in a Wave Antiques jewellery box. Occasionally we hold the original box an item came in; where that is the case, it is stated on the product page.
11. Appointments
We see clients by appointment at 7 Hatton Garden. Appointments can be booked through our website. If you cannot make an appointment, please let us know in advance so we can offer the slot to someone else.
12. Our responsibility to you
If we fail to meet these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that failure. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
13. Your privacy
We handle your personal information in line with our Privacy Notice, which explains what we collect and why. It is available on our website.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force is the one published on this page when you place your order.
15. Complaints and governing law
If you are unhappy with anything, please contact us first and we will do our best to resolve it.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes can be brought in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your own courts.
