Wave Antiques on the Jewellery Worn at the British Fashion Awards

Wave Antiques on the Jewellery Worn at the British Fashion Awards

The British Fashion Awards showcased a standout year for red carpet jewellery, with bold silhouettes, sculptural pieces and a fresh take on modern glamour. Below is our edit of the main jewellery trends from the night, inspired by styles similar to those available at Wave Antiques.

One of the strongest themes was the focus on statement earrings and ear cuffs. Cate Blanchett arrived in a striking floor-length Givenchy gown and paired it with chunky silver ear cuffs that wrapped elegantly around the ear. The result was minimal yet powerful styling that balanced her dramatic outfit.

Cat Burns and Ashley Roberts highlighted the rising trend for strong ring stacks. Cat Burns wore a dark merlot suit with four bold statement rings, while Ashley Roberts styled her electric yellow gown with silver rings, including a deep-set square-cut design and diamond tennis bracelets.

The awarded British Womenswear Designer of the Year Sarah Burton reinforced the appetite for bold jewellery in her Givenchy Fall 2025 collection, featuring single chunky bracelets worn over leather gloves and exaggerated tailoring finished with oversized earrings.

Across both runway and red carpet, the 2025 jewellery landscape continues to focus on reinvented classics. Oversized necklaces, layered chains, sculptural brooches and mixed metals were all seen throughout the night. Many guests paired articulated or layered pieces with structured silhouettes to create a balance of timeless glamour and contemporary edge.

The British Fashion Awards Vanguard Designer of the Year Dilara Findikoglu leaned into maximalism with pearls and chokers throughout her recent Paris runway, with cascading pearl details emphasising the trend for futuristic embellishment.

Brooches remained one of the strongest red carpet trends, continuing their resurgence from the Met Gala. Colman Domingo pinned a teardrop brooch to his Burberry lapel, Celia Imrie wore three silver brooches on her red ensemble and Ncuti Gatwa paired delicate pins with his diamond necklace. Jonathan Anderson, now third time British Fashion Designer of the Year, also wore floral brooches on his velvet jacket.

Another key theme was the prominence of yellow, appearing in both gowns and jewellery. Butter yellow, Vogue’s colour of spring, carried into winter styling through Lily Allen’s lace silk dress, Eva Apio’s golden gown with a yellow gemstone necklace and Julia Sarr-Jamois’ yellow stone ring. Alexa Chung also embraced the shade with her Chloé dress and long drop earrings.

The 2025 British Fashion Awards championed confident jewellery styling, from bold earrings and chunky rings to layered necklaces and sculptural brooches. Yellow gemstones and butter-toned gowns added warmth to the dark blue carpet, while mixed metals and oversized designs showed that statement jewellery remains at the forefront of modern red carpet style.
